James Ross Bright (President) is most commonly seen around Cascade Locks at the Bridge of the Gods tollbooth on the weekends. This summer he ran movies in Marine Park on Tuesday nights.
He is the writer/director/producer of 12 feature films and was the founding Artistic Director of the Gaslight Theatre in Austin Texas. He started his career as a union television/film actor in Los Angeles when he was a teenager and graduated from Hollywood High School. During his long career in the entertainment business he has relocated to numerous cities including New York, Dallas, Phoenix and to small towns off the beaten path. He loves calling Cascade Locks home and intends to eventually retire here. He marvels at the sheer beauty of the gorge and deeply values his good friendships with neighbors who appreciate how special this place is.
Lauryl Nagode (Treasurer) can most often be found at Marine Park Campground where she works as an independent contractor to the Port as its resident managing host. She worked over 40 years providing a wide range of institutional development and strengthening services to non-profit art, education, and public agencies in both the greater Portland and Los Angeles metropolitan areas. She currently works for the Adama Foundation which builds bakeries in refugee settlements, and designs curriculum for disability studies at California State University Northridge .
Her BFA in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in New York influenced her work as the program developer at Getty Villa in Malibu, Art Director at Cascade Business News, Managing Artistic Director of the Oregon Stage Company, and the Director of Development for Pacific Northwest College of Art.
Lauryl is also the President of Main Street Cascade Locks and an unofficial town ambassador bringing our different communities to the table to work together.Â
Jake Ross Bright (Secretary) is frequently seen restocking the Little Free Library boxes on Forest Lane, at Whiskey Flats and in the Marine Park Campground.
He teaches for Head Start in White Salmon and loves watching little kids explore and learn. He recently retired from low income property management in downtown Portland. He is looking forward to contributing to our community for many happy years ahead.
